Program Implementation Grants

These grants are available to community-based organizations located in the vanguard neighborhoods of Englewood, Humboldt Park, Lower West Side, Rogers Park, West Garfield Park, and West Town. For more information about the grant program and to apply, click here.

Program Implementation Grant awardees:

Norwegian American Hospital (Humboldt Park)

Create community nutrition education classes, including hands-on cooking and healthy grocery shopping, in West Town and Humboldt Park

Chicagoland Bicycle Federation (West Garfield Park)

Resurrect a Parent Patrol program at Delano Elementary School in West Garfield Park

Starfish Learning Center (Rogers Park)

Addition of fitness activities to after-school program

Will Feed (Englewood)

5-4-3-2-1 Go! program added to Kids Café

Girls in the Game (West Town)

Increase time for after-school program to increase physical activity and health knowledge for teen girls

Puerto Rican Cultural Center (Humboldt Park/West Town)

Equipment for Farmers’ Market

Stroger Hospital/Hektoen Institute for Medical Research Grants (Englewood)

Develop and distribute hip-hop exercise videos as part of larger program
